Anatomy for Dancers: (2 hours) Just like a painter would know the fibers of their paintbrush bristles or a sculpter would know the origin of his clay, as dancers we should be able to know what muscles or structures are used to create a movement. Everything in our bodies works together, so in order to understand how to make that maya extra gooey we have to look at what is moving, why it is moving & how we are making it move. We will explore the basic skeletal structure & how our joints function along with identifying & understanding the muscles that surround them in order to execute our bellydance movements with precision & safety.
